The air has finally started to turn cooler, and yesterday's deluge of rain means that fall is finally here.
I cast on yesterday for a cozy, cabled hoodie to keep away the damp chill in England (for whenever I get there). But in the meantime, thought I'd share some pics of how I spent my summer vacation.
The pink shawl is Summer Flies by Donna Griffin. Knit in Rocky Mountain Dyeworks Cascade Lace in Rose Wine.
Next photo is the Wool Leaves baby blanket by Jared Flood of Brooklyn Tweed fame. Second time I've knit this and it's so easy to churn out for a lovely baby gift. Also super snuggly and soft in Berroco Vintage.
More baby gifts were knit up with the baby blanket leftovers: the Umbilical Cord Baby Hat from Stitch n Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook, and booties and mitts by Diane Soucy from Knitting Pure and Simple.
Last pics? My knitting on my knees at a little strip of beach in Kelowna, BC, a stone's throw from the Art of Yarn shop (so delicious and lovely to be able to spend some time there again!), and a postcard snapshot of my view of Lake Okanagan.
