It's been a busy time here at C&Q with visitors, a weekend away and a couple of daytrips besides and I've been scurrying this week to catch up. Sadly, when it's this busy, the blog is always the first to suffer (along with laundry but nevermind!).
After spending most of this week at the computer following up on various projects though, I was happy to relax a bit today with a late breakfast and a book, followed by some cozy time on the couch at Loop after picking up the latest PomPom Quarterly.
Incidentally, PomPom are having a Christmas party with a pop-up indie yarn market on December 6th. Do check out the details as it sounds like a fun time. Rach and I are going to put in an appearance and I think I might just knit myself the Take Heart toque from the latest issue for the occasion.
The party was fantastic and Kathleen has a great write up of the shop itself, along with the event, over on her blog at Knit Like You Mean It. They had a beautiful alpaca silk blend yarn that I'm still thinking about. Sigh.
What else can I tell you? Our weekend in Paris was incredibly relaxing and I finally managed to visit the very cute L'Oisive The et Tricot. As it was a weekend we were lucky enough to grab a table for brunch - which was huge and incredibly satisfying!
The following weekend I was lucky enough to meet fabric and quilt designer, Lizzy House, and take her workshop for the Meadow Quilt at The Village Haberdashery. She is just one of the sweetest people and her class was great fun. I don't consider myself a quilter (yet?), but I think I could be by the time I get through with this project!
Still lots of catching up to do though - more soon!
