It's a sad thing to admit that a cold is kicking my ass. This post was originally called Blue Wednesday, but since I'd only written the title in my mind and crawled back into bed after taking the little guy to school yesterday, it's getting put to use today.
Today is actually a little more blue than yesterday. Or grey. It's raining, I'm congested and to my thinking that makes it a perfect knitting combo.
There's so many things I should be working on right now, but since I'm sick, I'm selfishly knitting on something for me before it too gets back-burnered for something else:
This is the start of the back for the Helix Cabled Vest by Shiri Mor from the Winter 2012/13 issue of Vogue Knitting. It's very va-va-voom so I'm hoping it's as flattering on me as it as on the model. Dare to dream, eh?
Right now the length isn't where it's supposed to be according to the pattern before starting the cable chart so I'm going to do a few more rows to get to that point first. I'm longer in the torso and I think I'll be happier in the long run if I make sure I'm not going to be constantly pulling it down later.
But no rest for the wicked. Before I can get back to that I've got some other work to get through before it's time for the afternoon school run. I think it's time for a cup of tea first.
