I had the pleasure of meeting Nu from Hide & Hammer in person at Woollinn, in Dublin earlier this year. I was no stranger to her awesome bags though, as Carmen from A Yarn Story had told me all about them in the way that BKFFs share things when they’ve made a fabulous find! Nu’s bags were a hot ticket item at both Woollinn and even earlier on the A Yarn Story stand at the Edinburgh Yarn Festival, and had made a brief appearance at Yarnporium through another vendor too. So I knew all about these bags!
It was in chatting with Nu though that I knew I just had to ask her to be part of Make Joy. Not only are her bags wonderfully and impeccably made, but her own story is pretty impressive too. Before her maternity leave a year ago, Nu worked hand-stitching bespoke bridals, some of which were worn by the British dressage Olympic gold champions. I immediately I understood why Nu has such immaculate attention to detail!
Nu’s keen eye for detail and creative flair have come together with her bags under the brand Hide & Hammer. Already a firm favourite with many knitters, these luxury bags from canvas and leather are all individually made by Nu herself - and they hold a lot of yarn too! Like, a SERIOUS amount of yarn…
Excitingly, Nu has been up to all kinds of creative shenanigans in her studio and is planning on launching a few lovely new products at Make Joy! She’ll be bringing the first collection of her new leather needle cases as well as the new leather bag collection that she’s currently working on. Of course Nu will also bring a selection of her popular #03 roll top knitting bags - as well as some limited edition colour combinations!
I can’t wait for you to meet Nu at Make Joy! Click here for advance tickets.
