The perfect first full day in London

We finally made it (note: the arm rests don't go up up IcelandAir - NOT comfortable! but it was cheap, so we sucked it up).

Harrison is excited (crashed like a ton o' bricks last night, was a maniac today), the temporary flat is teeny tiny but lovely (it's so cute!), and we had an AWESOME first, full day of wandering around.

Today was all about Harrison and getting us acquainted/familiar with London and the tube. Yesterday we had walked to Harrison's school and figured out where that was (had an email from the director tonight - they are expecting him promptly at 8:30am tomorrow morning to meet his new teacher!). Today after breakfast we hopped on the tube to Kensington Gardens and the Princess of Wales Memorial Playground. Wow... it's inspired by Peter Pan and has an enormous pirate ship in the middle of it - Harrison climbed the mast!! - along with hundreds of kids running around. Totally awesome!

Afterwards we walked through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park with Harrison on his scooter (to save his little legs) over to Oxford Street where we quickly caught a bus (and sat up top in the front, OF COURSE!) to Oxford Circus. Heading in the direction of Regent Street, we stopped for lunch in an Irish pub to refuel quickly. It was a good thing too as just around the corner (pub was on the cute Argyll Street, around the corner from Carnaby Street which we also passed through) was Hamley's - the famous toy store that we have been promising a visit to Harrison for his belated 5th birthday.

After 6 floors of toys, toys, and more toys, Harrison settled on what he wanted to spend his birthday money on and then we headed out and along Regent Street down to Piccadilly Circus and Jordan's office in Leicester Square for a quick pit stop (nicer than the public toilets!).

At Leicester Square we quickly jumped on the tube over to Islington and the darling Camden Passage - which is home to Loop!!! I met two of the ladies that I've met on Skype before and was able to check out their latest Wollmeise shipment which was put out yesterday. The pretties I came home with are in the photo. SO BRIGHT! It's wasabi (the colourway) but OMG they're SO BRIGHT!

Afterwards we quickly ran into a stationery store and grabbed what Harrison needs for school tomorrow before they closed and then came home for some playtime, rest, and dinner. Tomorrow once everyone is into their routines (work for Jordan and school for Harrison) I'm going to check out some good places to knit my day away!
